BUSH CABINS?

About

We are raising money to campaign against the proposed location of the Frensham School's “Bush Cabins” which will be in a vital habitat corridor in Mittagong.
The required clearing for the cabins will result in widespread destruction and death to many of the rescued wildlife that have been released into this area as well as the loss of hundred of trees.
Frensham School originally gave permission to wildlife rescuers to rehabilitate wombats at the Lower Holt. 6 were rehabilitated orphans and there are 10 to 14 wombats living in the Lower Holt.
It takes up to 3 years to rehabilitate an orphaned wombat. Wombats breed only 1 offspring per two years. 80% of the Burrows in the Lower Holt are ancestral, being part of the ancient pathway.
If wombat burrows are destroyed from development, many wombats get buried alive and in this case the survivors will become stressed and vulnerable to disease or dispersed into the suburbs looking for a place to live, being unsafe for the wombat and vehicle traffic.
Wombats are tribal. It is dangerous to remove them from their wisdom and expect them to go elsewhere for human convenience.
